Olin Caprison began performing as Violence in 2010 and released on various net-labels and were featured on several physical compilations, such as Blasting Voice, a compilation curated by Ashland Mines for the label Teenage Teardrops.
As a musician performing under the name she has toured in Europe and the U.S. at numerous festivals, colleges and universities sharing the stage with King Britt, Islam Chipsy, Claudia Rankine and Bell Violence’s first physical release, Reptile/Hand-Me-Downs From Heaven, was released by Steak au Zoo Records in 2012 and a European tour followed in the summer of that year. Afterward, Violence self released a number of EPs and performed throughout the United States. In 2015, they became one of the featured artist's on C-ORE, the premiere compilation of Mykki Blanco's DogFood Music Group. Subsequently, Violence toured alongside Mykki Blanco and Yves Tumor.
In 2016, Violence signed to NON Worldwide and released A Ruse of Power and after another summer tour in Europe, Violence released Human Dust to Fertilize the Impotent Garden in 2017.
As multi-instrumentalist, Olin Caprison composes, produces, and performs for all of Violence's output. Their compositions are known for their complexity, dissecting genre and eradicating historical hierarchies through orchestration as well as lyrical content that guides the listener into a meditation on the oppressive nature of history, and the idea of archetypal memory and its accompanied stigmas.
